Border patrol agents found 4 bodies near the Rio Grande in South Texas. There was one adult and three children found on Sunday in Hidalgo County. The adult was a 20-year-old woman, with two of the children being infants, and the other a toddler.

At the time of this writing (12:00pm, Monday, June 24th, 2019) the local authorities were awaiting the FBI to show up to lead the investigation.

The bodies were found in an area just south of McAllen, TX and north of Reynosa, Mexico in the Las Paloma Wildlife Management Area, southeast of Anzalduas Park.

In the month of May, the number of people stopped while crossing the border illegally was up. US Customs and Border Protections officials said 132,000 total people were stopped in May alone, the most in 13 years. There have been seven child deaths since last year, of children in CBP custody at the time. The most recent being a 16-year-old who was diagnosed with the flu.
