‘Are You Afraid of the Dark’ Comes Back to Nickelodeon Next Month

As a kid growing up in the 90's there was nothing more precious to me than Nickelodeon. I grew up watching Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, which looking back, that had a lot of adult cartoons that just went over my head. One of my favorite things about Nickelodeon was that they had Snick. Snick was Saturday night Nickelodeon where they had shows like All That and my favorite, Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Are You Afraid of the Dark? was my first taste of an anthology series. It revolved around a group of kids that gathered around a campfire, they called themselves the Midnight Society, and tell each other spooky stories. It was spooky but also, kind of kid friendly. I can't remember how it ended or when Nickelodeon stopped airing it, but it just did. Over the years I'd find episodes online and get to relive my childhood. Now, 90's kids like me can relive the terror because Are You Afraid of the Dark? is coming back!

Nickelodeon dropped the trailer for the reboot of Are You Afraid of the Dark? and it seriously gave me chills, although, I can't tell if it was because it felt like I was a kid again or because it legit got me scared! Check it out below!

Creepy, right? While it definitely has the same elements of the original, this story has a twist, the story told around the campfire actually becomes real! With the slogan "don't turn out the lights" on October 11th, we'll get to see how the Midnight Society gets themselves out of this story.
