With both Batman vs. Superman and Captain America: Civil War coming soon, the current superhero trend is to jam pack your movie with as many comic book characters as possible. Batman vs. Superman has the Justice League and Civil War has almost all the Avengers. A new X-Men: Apocalypse trailer has arrive to remind us all that there is another superhero film coming this summer and it is as chock full of superheroes as anything else you’ll see this summer.

Because it’s an X-Men movie, there are a lot of cool mutant powers on display. Cyclops using his optic blast, Havoc going full plasma blast, Psylocke chopping a car in half, Angel shooting razors, Nightcrawler BAMF-ing and Storm storming. Lots of interesting stuff going on.

But also because it’s an X-Men movie, it takes itself a little too seriously with the slowed down cover of Coldplay’s “Beautiful World” going on in the background. Yes, we’re bored of the same old trailer themes too, but Coldplay?

Also, if we’re being honest, we’re still not sold on Apocalypse, who looks a little too goofy in that outfit to be taken seriously as a threat to the world. To be fair, we weren’t quite sold on X-Men: Days of Future Past based on that film’s trailer (really all the X-Men movies have had subpar trailers) and that film turned out to be quite good, so we’re hoping for the best here. I mean you have three of the best actors of their generation — Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Oscar Isaac — all in the same superhero movie, that’s got to count for something, right?

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor, Ben Hardy.

X-Men: Apocalypse opens in theaters on May 27.
