Within Temptation Announce 2019 North American Tour With In Flames

All eyes are shifting toward 2019 and with a slew of new albums on the way, including fresh additions to the Within Temptation and In Flames catalogs. They'll join forces on a 2019 North American tour, headlined by Within Temptation.

Joining the two bands on the trek, which starts on Feb. 28, will be openers Smash Into Pieces. The tour will finish up on March 19 in Los Angeles and a list of all confirmed dates can be seen below.

"With this record, we've taken inspiration from modern music and gave it a face — a very dark one," said singer Sharon den Adel of Resist, which will be released on Feb. 2. "Sometimes, it feels that today's pop music lacks a rebellious edge. Our main goal was to collect pieces from sounds we did like and roughen it up as much as we could, resulting in a surprisingly new musical world that is heavier, dirtier and more futuristic than we’ve ever created before," she continued. "Resist is our take on metal in a new way: to give modern music its rebellious edge.”

The first single off Resist, "The Reckoning," featured a guest appearance from Papa Roach's Jacoby Shaddix. Meanwhile, "Raise Your Banner," the second single, found In Flames frontman Anders Friden making his contribution. So far, In Flames have only released a teaser clip for a new song, "I Am Above." Smash Into Pieces, an alt rock band from Sweden, released Evolver, their fourth studio album, earlier this year.
