I was a top 40 kid. There used to be a rack at the store and they actually had the top 40 singles in each slot. Each week I'd go in and pick up the ones I didn't have. Heck, they were cheap. I don't remember how cheap, but it wasn't much. Then I started getting a real allowance. With my first cash payout I went and bought three albums.

The three albums I purchased were "Elton John's Greatest Hits", "Three Dog Nights Greatest Hits" and "Alice Coopers Greatest Hits.  In my young mind, getting "Greatest Hits" was a great value.  Anyways, I took the three home and I listened to the Alice Cooper over and over again. So, not only was it my first album, it also introduced my crazed brain to metal riffs and shock rock.  I'd be lying if I said I didn't listen to the others. I really liked the Elton John a bunch, but found very little on the Three Dog Night that I liked.

So the question is, what was the first full album you bought?  Now, the term album could mean l.p., eight track, cassette, c.d. or download (I guess all formats are still considered an "album").  Let's add to that, do you still like that album? Do you still have it? Does it still mean something to you?
