What College Basketball Star Scored Over 100 Points in a Single Game This Weekend? [VIDEO]
This player is a scoring machine.
Jack Taylor, a 5-10 junior guard for Division III Grinnell College, scored 109 points Sunday in his team's 173-123 victory over Crossroads. Taylor's outburst included him going 24-for-48 from 3-point range.
His numbers could have very well been even gaudier had he played more than 29 minutes.
Amazingly, this wasn't even a career day for Taylor. Last season, he racked up 138 points during a win against Faith Baptist Bible College.
Taylor remained humble about his performance:
Just like last year, I couldn't have done this without my teammates. I give so much credit to them. This truly was a team effort. I'm thankful for the program and the people I have playing with me."
Taylor is one of only two players to score more than 100 points in an NCAA game. The other was Clarence 'Bevo' Francis, who poured in 113 for that powerhouse Rio Grande back in 1954.
Taylor opened the season two days before this outburst with 71 points in a 144-99 victory over Finlandia. At the rate he's going, he should be cracking triple digits before the first timeout by the time March Madness comes rolling 'round.
