We always knew that Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne was eccentric, but he's also a pretty bad packer. That, or he has an inconsiderate sense of humor when it comes to traveling. In news that has remained somewhat under the radar, until now, the singer showed up at the Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City last week with a grenade (or a replica of a grenade) on his person or in his luggage. It caused the airport to shut down and a horde of travelers to miss their flights. Needless to say, people were pissed!

Coyne tweeted about the incident, posting: "Sorry Sorry Sorry!! Everyone that was inconvenienced because of my grenade at OKC airport!!" WTF? It's pretty common knowledge that messing around with weapons, real or not, is unacceptable behavior at airports.

We know, it sounds like a joke, and it's almost too funny to be true, but apparently, it actually happened. An OKC blog Lost Ogle shared a report from a passenger who missed a flight due to the Coyne-caused security breach. There are even photos of the singer in discussions with TSA agents.

That couldn't have been a fun day to fly out of OKC -- that's for sure. Even more importantly, there's no information as to why Coyne brought a grenade -- fake or not -- to the airport. That's just begging for trouble. We're left to wonder just how much trouble he got into, and if any charges were filed against him for his indiscretion.
