Trent Reznor needs to clear some space on his mantle, because he’s scored another major award!

The singer/guitarist/frontman, who won an Academy Award in 2011 for his brooding and ominous score of ‘The Social Network’ and has collected Grammys as Nine Inch Nails, will be honored with the prestigious ASCAP Golden Note Award during the organization’s 29th Annual Pop Music Awards. The fete takes place on April 18 at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles. The gala is invite-only and honors other songwriters and publishers.

Reznor joins esteemed company by nabbing this award, which is presented to songwriters, composers, and artists who have achieved extraordinary career milestones. Past recipients include Elton John, Quincy Jones, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and Lionel Richie. And now, Trent Reznor is among that elite, special and talented group.

Reznor was chosen for his continued cutting edge compositions and his body and breadth of work.

“As the creative genius behind the pioneering industrial rock group Nine Inch Nails and one of the most innovative and cutting-edge songwriter-composers of any genre, Trent Reznor continues to blaze trails into uncharted musical territory,” said ASCAP President and Chairman Paul Williams in a press release. “We’re thrilled to honor him with the prestigious Golden Note Award for his achievements in songwriting and his award-winning film scores.”
