Could this be the summer of Kelsey Grammer? The 'Cheers' and 'Fraiser' star has made attempts at the big screen before (he played Beast in 'X-Men: The Last Stand'), but this year he stars in two of the summer's bigger sequels: 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' and 'The Expendables 3.' And now Grammer gets the spotlight in the latest TV spots for 'Transformers 4.'

And here he plays the boring voice of government authority who seeks to wipe out the Transformers, which makes this movie seem like a reboot of the last film, which also featured the government opposed to Transformers and an imminent threat to the planet posed by an alien invasion. If Michael Bay wasn't so great at the huge set pieces featured in these movies, they'd be pretty close to unwatchable.

Here's the film's synopsis:

TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION is the fourth film in director Michael Bay’s global blockbuster franchise. The film begins after an epic battle that left a great city torn, but with the world saved. As humanity picks up the pieces, a shadowy group reveals itself in an attempt to control the direction of history… while an ancient, powerful new menace sets Earth in its crosshairs. With help from a new cast of humans, Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) and the Autobots rise to meet their most fearsome challenge yet. In an incredible adventure, they are swept up in a war of good and evil, ultimately leading to a climactic battle across the world.
and here's that second TV spot. 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' opens June 27.
