I'll admit upfront that this is my favorite category of horror movie. It was rough cutting it down to six, but I gotcha Boo.

First off, I don't think you're every going to watch the movie "Psycho" or even it's color remake. Next, how do you define "Psycho"?  Well for the purpose of this blog, we're going to define it as anyone who kills for the sick joy of killing. Let's also say, that most of these "psychos" started out as regular humans, with some only turning somewhat supernatural in order to deliver sequels. Cool beans? Alright, let's get to the "Top 6 Must See Horror Movies About Psychos"

    Scream

Scream was the first movie I ever watched twice back to back. Scream 1 & 2 remain immensely tense and totally re watchable. I thought 3 was crap, but quite enjoyed 4. All the movies took murder movies to a whole new level and for that, Scream deserves to be number one.

    Halloween

Here's what I hate about the interweb. I can't get you a trailer that shows you how well this movie holds up. You're going to see a trailer presented in an old way, even though this movie holds up as one of the scariest movies ever made. I enjoyed Rob Zombies remake, but the original cannot be matched on any level.

    The Collector

The Collector and to a lesser degree it's sequel squeezed a little more life into the genre. I've always contemplated "how hard can it be to create the next Freddy or Michael Myers?". I believe "The Collector" was a great effort towards creating a new horror icon.

    Saw II

Just like the Friday the 13th series, the first movie was just a setup for the greatness that later ensured. The original Saw movie was a low budget affair and was mostly two guys locked in a bathroom with a dead body. Subsequent movies gave the Jigsaw killer more victims and more traps and it all started with Saw II.

    Friday The 13th Part 2

I'm giving Jason Voorhees props here. First off, he wasn't the killer in number one, and second, it's really more about the legacy of the character. I remember not even liking this series that much when it started. Next to Halloween there was very little character development, it was all just hack-and-slash. Well, after a while you realize that was actually an original tact to take when making a horror movie: sometimes killers just kill.

    You're Next

I can't tell you that much about this one without giving stuff away, so I'll have to dance around my point. Let's just say that when the killer behind it all is revealed, he's a little nutty-koo koo. Just a little. This is one of my favorite movies ever, and if you like a bit more of a story, this is the one for you. The movie is actually about how the killer(s) picked the wrong target.
