Yes, I'm the guy who said that political correctness is "just being nice." With that said, I think this Target sweater is drawing some attention when it shouldn't be drawing any.

I guess I'm uniquely qualified to give an opinion on this one.

I was obsessive/compulsive for many years. I did all the classic stuff, like driving to work, then driving back home 30 minutes just to check the locks, some mild hoarding and whatnot. That's the set up, because the sweater says "Obsessive Christmas Disorder" on it.

Some people have complained that this is making fun of a serious mental disorder. I'm not buying into this one.

It is, of course, just a play on the words/phrase "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder" and has nothing to do with making fun of the actual disorder. If it had pictures of presents all wrapped in the same wrapping and lined up perfectly, MAYBE you could say it's poking the folks with O.C.D. a bit, but right now it's nothing more than a turn of a phrase.

I personally think people would think it was cute if it was a kid's shirt that said "Obsessive Cookie Disorder." *Note to self: Make Obsessive Cookie Disorder shirts). I don't believe there is any harm intended by this sweater whatsoever.

If we actually rated things 1-10 on an offensiveness scale, I would give it a zero.
