- While we wonder about the recording future of System of a Down, drummer John Dolmayan is getting in some studio time with his other band These Grey Men. The musician posted a photo on Instagram stating that vocals were in progress. Within the comments, Dolmayan's System bandmate Serj Tankian asked, "When do I get to sing on some female vocal jam you've got lined up for me :)))," to which Dolmayan responded that he had planned to ask him about it privately, so there may be a collaboration of sorts in the works.

- The Black Dahlia Murder are releasing a new song titled "Gone But Not Forgotten" as a flexi disc that comes with issues of New Noise Magazine. You can also stream the track at this location.

- Crowbar will be hitting the road in November for a headlining run that includes support from Tombs, Incite and Tri-County Terror. The trek launches Nov. 11 in San Antonio and runs through Dec. 1 in Clarksville, Tenn. Dates for the run can be found here.

- Project 86 are on their way back with their tenth studio album, Sheep Among Wolves. The band funded the album through PledgeMusic and will release the disc Dec. 5. If you pre-order through PledgeMusic, you'll get a five-song Influence EP that includes a cover of the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage." Be on the lookout for the first single "MHS" expected by mid-fall.

- Ahmet and Diva Zappa revealed that in addition to the Ronnie James Dio hologram that's getting ready to hit stages in the coming moths, the Zappa family is also working with Eyellusion on a Frank Zappa hologram. “We’re actually going to do a huge bizarre experience with Frank’s music, with tons of very surreal imagery and we’re looking forward to bringing those holograms to life and basing a lot of what we’re doing with Frank on performances from the early ‘70s that our dad recorded on a soundstage and never used it at that time," explained Ahmet Zappa.

- Beasto Blanco's Calico Cooper and Chris Latham revealed that the band has been working on new music with an album expected to arrive soon. The band will also be playing more dates in December that can be found here. “It’s like being on a speeding motorcycle. We start playing and the walls are shaking," says Cooper of their shows. "You can like the music, but at a Beasto show, you’re in the music.”

- Chas West revealed that he's stepping out for a solo album, which features the Bonham vocalist working with Puddle of Mudd drummer Dave "Chili" Moreno, guitarist Jimmy Burkard and Roy Z. West also revealed that Brian Tichy will lend his talents on a couple of songs, with the project going under the moniker Westward Bound featuring Chas West.

- Terror Universal have pushed their new album Make Them Bleed to a Jan. 19, 2018 street date via Minus Head Records. The disc will feature guest turns by Disturbed's John Moyer on the song "Spines" and Fear Factory's Tony Campos on the track "Dead on Arrival." You can pre-order the disc via Bandcamp or the band's new PledgeMusic pre-order page.
