Billy Corgan and his Smashing Pumpkins cohorts are moving right along in their task of completing two new albums. Corgan has just chimed in at the band's website to reveal that the first release, 'Monuments for an Elegy,' which features Motley Crue's Tommy Lee on drums, is for the most part complete.

"So it's done now, 'Monuments for an Elegy' that is; and what a relief," says Corgan, who adds that only the master mix remains on the "to-do" list for 'Monuments for an Elegy.'

Addressing those who questioned whether recording the album was as difficult a process as they felt Corgan made it seem, the musician replied, "I'd most hoped to convey the joy of creativity, and how with any artistic endeavor, when undertaken with friends, makes the journey worthwhile. So let me say for the record … that 'M2AE' was one of the easiest and most pleasurable albums I've ever made."

He adds of the new disc, "Having heard the album through for a first time (in this, a finished form), I was taken aback. 'It's indescribable, that,' I told Shredder, meaning that what I heard (in the sum total of songs) was unlike anything I could recognize. Yet none of it was unfamiliar, either -- big choruses, probing lyrics, odd twists of melody and guitars, guitars for days. Strange indeed."

Corgan concludes, "If we're lucky, it'll be out soon enough." He also posted a rough track listing that is subject to change. The titles, which are presented in a somewhat confusing way, read:

TIBERIUS/BEING BEIGE/ANAISE
ONE AND ALL/RUN2ME/DRUM AND FIFE
MONUMENTS/DORIAN/ANTI-HER0

OR: ROCKER/EPIC-ER/DISCO
ROCKER/EPIC-ER/TRIUMPH
DARKNESS/GOTHNESS/STOMPER

Stay tuned for more info on the album's street date, artwork and finalized track listing.
