Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes announced the end of the band this week halting a 24 year long career.  It seems to all be a fight over royalties and business with this brother Chris. It looks to be a sad, bitter end for a band that made many people happy. In honor of them packing it in, I have the Top Five Most Played Black Crowes Tracks for ya.

The "Real Five" is, once again, a reflection of what is played on Rock Radio.  So with that in mind, let's get to the Top Five for The Black Crowes.

1. She Talks To Angels. Yes, this ballad was a hit maker for the band. I've said it before, most successful bands have THAT ONE SONG that brings the worldwide fame and the groupies.  This was THAT SONG for The Black Crowes.

2. Hard To Handle. Hey you young whippersnappers, did you know this was a cover song? It was kind of crazy for a band to come out with an Otis Redding cover at the beginning of the grunge revolution, but it worked for this band.

3. Remedy.  This was actually the third single from The Southern Harmony And Music Companion.  The band had led the album promotion with "Thorn In My Pride" and "Sting Me".

4. Jealous Again.  The most interesting thing about his song came well after the fact. In 2008 the band sued country star Gretchen Wilson, accusing her of ripping the song of for her song "Work Hard, Play Harder".  The lawsuit itself is all over the web but I can't find anywhere who won the court battle (it may not even have taken place yet).

5. Twice As Hard.  The lead track from the Crowes debut always sounded a little different on the radio. Radio was "serviced" a track that featured an A Capella opening as opposed to the lazy guitar that kicks off the album version (which is heard here).
