The Evil Within Trailer: Seeking Asylum from Evil

The official Tokyo Game Show trailer for The Evil Within just arrived, presenting us with scenes that might seem a little familiar, perhaps in an attempt to keep the mystery of the game alive.

The TGS trailer, like the trailer that preceded it, seems to feature a lot of the same areas and characters from the Prologue video. We see our protagonist, Detective Sebastian Castellanos, as he’s joined by a small group of officers when entering the asylum. Mysterious figures whoosh by and officers are killed before Sebastian is knocked out by a shadowy, supernatural assailant.

What ensues is a horrific romp through the asylum, which is apparently filled with demonic beings and many-limbed creatures ripped straight out of our nightmares. With Shinji Mikami, the twisted mind behind Resident Evil, at the helm, there’s no doubt that we’ll lose plenty of sleep because of this game.

Watch the trailer above and look forward to (or dread), its release on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2014.
