In our latest installment of 'Would You Rather?,' Garret Rapp of the Color Morale discusses why touring is so important to him as well as why no matter where the band travels in there will be a slight stench that follows them. He also talks about his admiration for Freddie Mercury of Queen and much more. Check out our game of 'Would You Rather?' below with The Color Morale frontman Garret Rapp:

Would you rather be in the studio or on tour?

On tour, for me it’s about the connection. I think the importance of the connection. It’s a huge focus in our life right now. People come to shows bringing their wife or bringing their kid and I’ve seen that growth. I’ve seen people connect with each other and grow as friends because of our band, it’s really cool to see.

Would you rather mess up onstage or late for a show?

I would rather mess up onstage, I would hate being late for a show because it would probably be me being ignorant. Yeah I would rather mess up onstage.

Would you rather play small club shows forever or play big festivals forever?

Definitely small club shows, two to three hundred people packed in a really dark, dirty, venue, that feels more like home to me. I don’t know, it’s something about your old punk rock club that makes your heart beat stronger.

Would you rather tour in a smelly clunky tour bus with a stench you couldn’t get rid of or a brand new shiny RV?

I mean, regardless, there’s going to be a stench that we can’t get rid of with our band [Laughs] so I would say whichever is cheaper. With our band, no matter what we’re in, there’s always going to be that weird smell that lingers. [Laughs]

Would you rather tour with someone you didn’t respect or tour with someone who didn’t respect you?

I’ve done both of those, I think I would rather tour with somebody I didn’t respect, I think that would give me a new challenge. As much as I would want to put a brick in their skull, it would be a new challenge daily to find a way to accept who they are which would be more conducive to my personal growth.

Would you rather have drumsticks for hands or an accordion for legs?

Accordion for legs because I would be getting exercise constantly by just making awesome noises and making myself laugh all day. Imagine going to the gym with accordion legs? It would be great. [Laughs]

Would you rather have lunch with a musician currently alive or one who has passed? Who would it be?

Only one human being would apply to that question for me. I would love to sit down and have dinner with Freddie Mercury. There are so many things I would love to learn, his voice, his brain, there’s only one Freddie Mercury. I was never really a big Queen fan, it was Freddie Mercury in particular. I appreciate and respect the hell out of Queen but the first time I ever heard him personally sing was incomparable and something that made me want to sing. I listen to Queen songs but was never a huge Queen fan as much as I was a fan of his energy, his presence and his aura onstage.
