I have always dreamed of going to the Consumer Electronics Show and the famed Shot Show but both are held in Las Vegas every year. The cost of airfare, hotel accommodations, meals and tickets to each event make it almost impossible. However, The National Rifle Association (NRA) will be holding it's 142nd Annual NRA Meetings and Exhibits (NRAM) in Houston, and I know that I'll be asking my boss for the time off so that I can attend. The NRA show travels to different cities every year, this year it will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, promising over eight acres of guns and gear.

The NRA Meetings and Exhibits Show is open to the public and free tickets are given to NRA members and their families. The Annual Meetings will play host to over 500 exhibitors showing off the newest guns and gear covering 400,000 square feet. Thursday May 2nd NRA members can bring in their antiques, collectables and heirlooms for the NRA's 'Guns and Gold' TV appraisal show to give them free expert appraisals.

On Friday May 3rd, some of country music's top artists will be entertaining all the NRA supporters. In past years Trace Adkins, Blake Shelton, Rascal Flatts, Charlie Daniels and others have been the featured entertainment. In the final two days of the NRA meetings things get serious and heated at times as the discussion will turn to the 2nd Amendment and the availability of arms and ammo. No matter what day you go it promises to be a fun and an excellent learning event. I can't wait, I only wished I could set up a broadcast booth from there. If you're planning on going let me know and we can hang out.
