The Austin Statesman is reporting that some Texas highways may be designated with a top speed of 85 after engineering and traffic studies. The Texas house has already approved a measure in a voice vote and a similar measure is making it's way through the house. Some of these areas already have a posted limit of 80. On the opposing side of the measure are representatives from the insurance industry who say that 85 is too fast regardless of conditions.

Do you think you could do 85 on those long flat highways or is the "shimmy" of doing 85 too much for you or your vehicle? Leave us your comments, but we would be remiss if we didn't include some Sammy Hagar to ponder your answer over. (Bit of trivia for ya...notice how "resisting" is spelled wrong on the traffic summons).
