Wipe your slates clean from the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and get ready for the next big one of the year: the South By Southwest Film Festival. The fest previously announced Richard Linklater’s latest ‘Everybody Wants Some’ as the opening night film, plus the premieres of Judd Apatow’s ‘Pee-wee’s Big Holiday,’ Jeff Nichols’ ‘Midnight Special’ and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s AMC series ‘Preacher,’ among a few other titles. But now we have the full 2016 lineup.

Paul Feig’s The Heat took a genre that has traditionally belonged to men — the buddy cop movie — and gave it a female twist. Feig’s new movie, Spy, does much the same thing, this time for spy films, a world that has long been by, about, and for dudes and their power fantasies. Spy explicitly subverts the genre’s typical gender dynamics by casting Melissa McCarthy as a lowly, desk-bound CIA analyst named Susan Cooper, who has spent her entire career in the shadow of a glamorous James Bond-esque spy (Jude Law) and then finally gets her opportunity to step into the spotlight and become a full-fledged field agent.

Individually, Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart are undeniably hilarious guys. Bringing two major comedic forces together on the big screen just makes sense on both a commercial and entertainment level. Unfortunately, Get Hard largely squanders the talents of Ferrell and Hart on an outdated premise with tired jokes, delivering what essentially amounts to one overlong joke about the terrors of prison rape.

There are few mysteries more grim than that of a suicide, particularly of such a beloved and iconic celebrity. That death can blur the line between fandom and the entitled urge to know more about their private lives — as was and still is the case with Kurt Cobain, guitarist and frontman of prolific ‘90s grunge outfit Nirvana. Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck gives us unprecedented access to the mind and soul of someone who never took interviews seriously and resented his overnight rise to fame.

James Franco might not be the best actor working in movies today, but he's almost certainly the most fearless. His choices are as unpredictable as they are gutsy. He'll try just about anything: television dramas ('Freaks & Geeks'), soap operas ('General Hospital'), comedies ('Pineapple Express'), and big blockbusters ('Spider-Man,' 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'). His latest role, in Harmony

There's no way anyone can check out everything that happens at South by Southwest. It's impossible. Even if you moonlighted as the world's greatest superhero, you wouldn't be able to check out every single thing that goes down at one of the year's most buzzed-about music fests...

Dave Grohl’s Sound City Players Bring the Star Power at SXSW 2013
Dave Grohl and his Sound City Players hit SXSW 2013 last night (March 14), playing to a packed house at Stubb's BBQ in Austin. Grohl warned those badgeholders and attendees lucky enough to get into the show that it was going to be a long night, but we doubt anyone was too bummed about the prospect of a marathon set with Grohl at the helm. The show was one of the hottest tickets of the festival so
