Okay, I for one am from the school of thought that believes 'there is a Santa Claus and there will always be a Santa.' Some people want to believe that there is no Santa and I always ask, "Then why all the Christmas holiday hoopla?" This year I found a way to prove my beliefs.
Each year I watch the Super Bowl because I love football and I really love the Super Bowl commercials. Never have I said "I love Christmas because of the commercials", but thanks to Chevy, I can actually say that.
I had a dream the other night about Santa. Yes, I still dream of Santa but it wasn't the kind of dream where he's bringing me presents; I was trying to capture him. I'm not sure what spurred this dream other than I had watched a show on TV where people had been kidnapped and a lot of violence ensued. I wasn't trying to hurt Santa, mind you, I was just trying to capture him.
Sorry kids. It appears as if your presents are on back order this year because Santa Claus isn't coming to town in 2012. He's too busy prepping for the upcoming (and supposed) apocalypse, according to last night's episode of 'Conan.'
We love Santa. We really do! He's probably the coolest old guy we know, spending his life making presents, managing elves and eating cookies. Truth be told, we're sort of jealous. The jolly old guy usually looks bright and cheery and not all that scary, which is yet another reason we're fans.
This past Saturday, SantaCon took over New York City. For all of you unfamiliar with this classic American holiday, it's an entire day dedicated to dressing up like Santa Claus and getting a little crazy frolicking around with fellow Saint Nick look-a-likes. It's sort of like a massive Christmas flash mob that makes you feel like you're in a strange alternate universe, but it's actually totally awesome.
Funniest Memes of the Week is back, just in time for finals and the holidays - our two favorite things! Just kidding, finals are annoying to say the least but we'll get you through it with these funny memes...
As a role model for kindness and generosity, you can't do much better than Santa. But let's face it -- he's not exactly the picture of health. If the jolly old elf can't bring himself to drop a few pounds, at least he's recently given up smoking.
When Santa found out he was going up against Snoop Dogg, er, Snoop Lion in a rap battle, did he soil his red, velvety pants? Snoop Lion agreed to an 'Epic Rap Battle of History,' donned a robe, and played the part of Moses for this video.
Roughly 800 people put on Santa costumes for the Fourth Annual Michendorf Santa Run in Michendorf, Germany. The race is sponsored by Laufclub Michendorf (which translated means Michendorf Running Club, imagine that) and is 10 kilometers long. You can't quite tell from these pictures, but it actually began snowing pretty hard during the race, which probably makes these the most Christmas-y photos ever. Enjoy!
