Iron Maiden Turn Music Piracy Into Touring Gold with New Online Strategy

Update: Original source CITEworld has retracted their story -- "Due to writer error, an original version of this article stated that Iron Maiden used MusicMetric's analysis to plan its South American tours. MusicMetric did not work directly with Iron Maiden. The analysis described in this article was carried out without the band's participation or knowledge, and we have no confirmation that the band ever saw or used it. CITEworld deeply regrets this error, and we apologize to our readers."

Illegally downloading music is frowned upon, but Iron Maiden have managed to turn the issue into a positive. Instead of filing lawsuits or barraging the media with a list of names who have stolen music, Iron Maiden have instead used file-sharing information to plan their tour itineraries.

'Stone Cold' Steve Austin is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. His persuasion as an anti-authoritarian and surly redneck who loves drinking beer and kicking ass is among the most celebrated characters in WWE / WWF history. Those familiar with Austin may picture the man listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd or Hank Williams, and although that may be true, Austin recently professed his love for Slayer, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne and many other metal acts.

Anthrax’s Scott Ian Shares His Iron Maiden Tribute Speech From Recent Kerrang! Awards

If you were to ask any given metalhead who they thought the greatest metal band of all time is, the answer would often be Black Sabbath or Metallica.
