So what are you doing on Sept. 25? If you’re smart, you’ve already circled the date on the calendar to get the new Green Day album, ‘¡Uno!,’ which is the first piece of the band’s upcoming trilogy.
It’s been three long years since Green Day released a studio album, and the band has so much pent-up creative energy that it’s preparing to unleash a full-on trilogy of new LPs over the next year. The first installment, ‘¡Uno!,’ arrives in September — and the band will celebrate its release by heading down to New Orleans and headlining Voodoo Fest 2012.
We knew that when Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong introduced Guns N’ Roses at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction last April, the crowd booed at the mention of Axl Rose. We didn’t know that Armstrong almost filled in for Rose during a retrofitted GNR set that night.
The new Green Day Live c.d.+d.v.d. drops tomorrow (Tuesday the 22nd). The band made this nice video trailer you can check out after the jump.
