Not many drummers can say they’ve had the opportunity to play for the legendary Black Sabbath but Godsmack‘s Shannon Larkin holds that honor and considers it to be one of the best things that ever happened to him.
One of the more fun and interesting parts of Godsmack‘s ‘Live & Inspired‘ disc has been the cover songs they took on for the studio portion of the release. Having already shot up the charts with their take on Joe Walsh‘s ‘Rocky Mountain Way,’ the group is now moving on to their Beatles cover, ‘Come Together.’
Vegas baby! It’s time to double-down on hard rock, as the Rock Vegas festival will take over Sin City for two days on Sept. 28 and 29 at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Resort. The event will feature such topline acts as Rob Zombie, Shinedown, Marilyn Manson and Godsmack.
We recently reported that Godsmack nixed of a few European dates due to frontman Sully Erna’s unidentified vocal troubles, but now the band has canceled the rest of the scheduled shows on their European trek.
Godsmack continue their whirlwind of year with a co-headlining spot on the third annual Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. Also featuring bands like Shinedown, Staind and Papa Roach, the 30 show jaunt will make it’s way across the U.S. in August in September.
Godsmack’s new disc ‘Live & Inspired’ features performances from collection from the band’s 2010 concert at Detroit’s Fox Theater and a handful of cover songs, including the Joe Walsh classic ‘Rocky Mountain Way.’
“I hope you’re satisfied, I’m alive,” states singer Sully Erna in the lyrics to Godsmack‘s hit single ‘Awake.’ Well, fans are now very satisfied that, after more than a decade of work, the band has released its first live album.
Details have been revealed for Godsmack frontman Sully Erna‘s upcoming live DVD, which features Erna performing songs from his debut solo effort ‘Avalon’ and will be part of a box set loaded with extras like a documentary, posters, incense and more.
Wisconsin is going to be a mecca of hard rock from July 19 through July 22. The lineup for the 2012 Rock Fest, held near Cadott, Wis. has been announced and it’s heavier than granite. Where else can rock fans enjoy the sounds of Godsmack one night and Iron Maiden the next? Sprinkle in a little Alice Cooper and Five Finger Death Punch and there is something for absolutely everyone.
