The legend of “nice guy” Dave Grohl continues to grow by each good deed done. The latest act of generosity came from Philadelphia last month where the singer left a pair of rather substantial tips for the wait staff taking care of him during a wedding bash.

Foo Fighters‘ Dave Grohl reportedly left one lucky bartender at the Smith and Wollensky restaurant in Philadelphia’s swanky Rittenhouse Square Hotel something that would definitely fall into the latter category recently when he reportedly laid down $1,000 after ordering a single drink. Yes, you read that correctly — that’s a one followed by three zeros for just one drink.
Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins will portray punk legend Iggy Pop in the upcoming film based on the legendary New York club CBGB. Actors have also been cast to play Patti Smith, Dee Dee Ramone and Richard Hell.
If you caught the ‘Saturday Night Live‘ season finale last weekend, you know it ended with a high school graduation sketch that doubled as a thinly veiled sendoff/full cast dance party in honor of Kristen Wiig, who’s leaving the cast after seven years. Last night’s (May 19) season finale of ‘Saturday Night Live’ lived up to the hype – at least for music fans. The legendary Mick Jagger returned to the show to host in addition to performing a bevy of all-star music performances including songs with Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire and guitar great Jeff Beck.
Flash back to the early 2000s: the Foo Fighters had fallen from ‘Everlong’ era glory, drummer Taylor Hawkins nearly died of a drug overdose in 2001, and the stadium-packing heavy rock band was on the verge of breaking up — all while recording 2002 album ‘One by One,’ an album that had entire recording session junked before re-recording. Demos from the left-for-dead first draft have now leaked online.
Foo Fighters will help put the rock in 30 Rock on the 37th season finale of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ when they back up legendary Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger for a performance on May 19.
March 19, 2012 Being in radio has afforded me the opportunity to see a ton of bands, from the Rolling Stones to Pink Floyd to Metallica and a butt-load of others. However, there are some serious heavyweights I haven't been able to see yet, so here is my concert bucket list.
As the 2012 Grammy Awards slowly become a spotlit memory, one of the most successful and featured winners of “music’s biggest night” were Foo Fighters. With his band having captured five Grammy awards (only one less than pop star Adele), including Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance, frontman Dave Grohl revealed to MTV that he feels bad for beating out Dream Theater for that very award.
And the winner is… Foo Fighters for ‘White Limo!’ Foo Fighters have just beaten out Mastodon, Megadeth, Dream Theater and Sum 41 for the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance.
So far at tonight’s 2012 Grammy Awards, Foo Fighters have taken home four awards, bringing their all-time Grammy wins from six to 10. During the pre-telecast ceremony, the band won for Best Long Form Music Video, Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album.
