AC/DC have thrown their support behind a campaign to erect a new statue of the late Bon Scott in the singer's hometown of Kirriemuir, Scotland. Though AC/DC are known for their Australian pride, Scott actually moved to the continent from Scotland in his youth.

Anthrax are currently making the rounds down under and one of their recent stops on Australia's Soundwave Festival came in Perth, which also just happens to be the hometown of late AC/DC frontman Bon Scott.

After spending the last year getting the cast and crew lined up, pre-production has begun on a new biopic titled 'Bon Scott -- The Legend of AC/DC.'
