Black Label Society are known for being loud -- very loud -- but with their new ‘Unblackened’ DVD and CD, they show off their more melodic side while still keeping their thunderous sound. Even though 'Unblackened' isn't due until Sept. 24, frontman Zakk Wylde gave a select few a preview of the new discs at the Collective School of Music in New York City.
Black Label Society have just announced the release of 'Unblackened,' a new live offering from the band. 'Unblackened' will become available on DVD, Blu-ray and digital video and will feature 17 performances of BLS fan favorites.
Every Monday evening at the Iridium in NYC, the Les Paul Trio assemble to play and honor guitar great and innovator Les Paul. The tradition includes welcoming legendary guest guitarists to join them for unique, one of a kind shows and the latest invite extended was to Zakk Wylde, who will perform with the trio June 10.
As if the 2013 Heavy MTL festival wasn't already rocking enough, organizers have just added some significant rockers to this year's bill. Among the top new acts joining the music weekend include Black Label Society, Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals and Hellyeah! among others.
Black Label Society first discussed the idea of unplugging their instruments for a special performance last year, and Wednesday night (March 6) in Los Angeles the special semi-acoustic taping finally came to fruition. Zakk Wylde and crew let the cameras and audio equipment roll during the performance at Los Angeles' Club Nokia for what will eventually be a new CD/DVD release called 'Unblackened.'
Several members of the hard rock community are mobilizing to help those in need by recording a benefit track to raise funds for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The collective, which consists of Black Label Society's Zakk Wylde and JD Deservio, Sevendust's Morgan Rose, Candlebox's Kevin Martin and New York outfit the Infinite Staircase, will record the as-yet-untitled song with plans to release it as an iTunes exclusive on Jan. 8.

First former Kittie bassist Jenn Arroyo moved into the ‘Big Brother’ house and now bassist James LoMenzo who has played with Megadeth, Black Label Society and White Lion throughout his career, is joining the new season of ‘The Amazing Race.’

In preparation of the holidays, the band recorded an EP of acoustic instrumental holiday classics called ‘Glorious Christmas Songs That Will Make Your Black Label Heart Feel Good,’ which is now available on iTunes and eOne Music.
