Today (September 11, 2012) marks 11 years since that tragic day that shook the whole world. And even with so much time passed, I can honestly say I'm still shocked about the events of that day, and sadness still overcomes me. I remember a lot about that fateful day, but one of the things I remember the most, was all of the music I heard during that time. Whether they were tribute songs played on the radio, or songs that I threw in my CD player, these are the songs I remember the most during that horrible time that may have helped the healing process.

After I was asked to give a summary of what September 11th, 2001 was like for me, I thought I'd share my thoughts and be done with it. But that wasn't the case at all. That day is - as for many of you - one I will never forget, and a day that brought out emotions in me that I will take with me forever. It also gave me a different way of looking at life. The events of September 11, 2001 will forever be engraved in American history as one of the most tragic events, and the most impactful moment of our lifetime. But while the country collectively grieved over the human casualties, none were more affected than the residents of New York City. It was there that the devastation occurred and it was there that the survivors, the families of the victims and the city itself had to rebuild their lives.

At the time, most couldn't find the proper words to address the situation, but despite this challenge, it was left to all the late-night shows and media outlets that we often turn to for guidance to help us make sense of 9/11 and help us move on.

9/11 Memorial Misspells Victim's Name

In an “oops” of epic proportions, a 9/11 victim’s name was apparently misspelled on the New York memorial unveiled this past weekend.

Jeffrey Schreier worked for financial firm Cantor Fitzgerald, and was one of the many from that company killed on September 11, 2001.

When his relatives visited the memorial during the 10th anniversary commemorations on Sunday, they were shocked to see his first name had been spelled “Jeffery” instead.
