We've been waiting to find out when the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros. would arrive, and Nintendo has narrowed both release windows down.

During Tuesday's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. would arrive this summer. Unfortunately, the Wii U version isn't going to be making a showing until winter 2014. That said, both games boast the same deep roster, and offer plenty of differences. Still, the console version has been the preferred (and only) way to play for some time, so the longer wait is no doubt going to disappoint some fans.

Hopefully by the time E3 2014 rolls around, Nintendo will have a stronger release date in place for both versions. Until then, we've at least got plenty of new details and features to pore over while we wait.
