Yeah, you can buy your own tickets, drive yourself to the game, and hope to find a parking spot, but that's a huge hassle. A simple phone call to VIP Sports Getaway and you're jetting off to the next big game complete with transportation, tailgate party, and more.

Major charter services like this are typically only found in big cities, like Dallas or Houston. Make no mistake, though, just because VIP Sports Getaway is based in a smaller city, Kris Randolph and company are big on dreams and reality.

Kris Randolph has always lived by the motto of 'go big or go home' and you can see that in his company, VIP Sports Getaway. Kris took a few minutes to share his inspirational story success. He also shares a few tips for the aspiring small business owner out there that just may be reading this article.

Give us a brief history of VIP Sports Getaway:

VIP Sports Getaway started out as an idea in 2007 with one bus and 12 season tickets to the Dallas Cowboys. The idea was to take fans for an all-inclusive Dallas Cowboys trip where they didn't have to worry about details it was already taken care of. We now have built the company to 12 motor coaches, a restaurant directly across from Cowboys Stadium "Fishbone Grill & Sports Bar" and access to thousands of tickets to any events as well as numerous hotel partnerships.

Where did you get your first bus and do you still have it today?

The first VIP Sports bus was from Nashville Tennessee and we actually just sold it two months ago.

You guys now go as far as flying groups to the legendary Lambeau Field. Obviously you dream big and follow through with it – what is the next legendary venue you plan to take people to?

We do not have any definite plans set in stone as of now but New Orleans maybe in the near future.

What sets you guys apart from other charter companies?

Our attention to customer service ,cleanness of all our equipment and the amenities such as WIFI, Satellite TV and electrical plugs.

What's the vibe/atmosphere you try to set on each trip?

We pride ourselves in being a "One Stop Shop" which allows our customers to enjoy a hassle free trip.

Is there anything you would have done different back when you first started your company (knowing what you know now)?

No, because the best part of building a company is learning with your feet on the ground.

You have obviously had a lot success, otherwise you wouldn't be as big as you are all these years later. What can you attribute that to?

Simple; doing what you say in taking care of people!

You also own a restaurant that you use in conjunction with your trips to the DFW area. Was it always in your game plan to open a restaurant/bar?

No but it just evolved as the company did. Abilene may be the next Fishbone Grill location.

Following the success of your entertainment charter and restaurant companies, you’ve become a successful concert promoter. What’s next on the horizon for Kris Randolph and VIP Sports Getaway?

All I can say is the summer of 2017 could get very interesting for Abilene! :)

Are there other local businesses or entrepreneurs that you look up to or model yourself after?

Jerry Jones, Mark Cuban to name a few - but really all successful business owners have helped mold me to be a better businessman.

When financing a new company or growing an existing company, what’s the most important piece of advice you would give to someone?

To learn the ability to treat people right and to build relationships with all customers and even vendors/partners in the trade. And that cash flow, i.e. money coming into to an existing business is KING.

What’s the most important life lesson you’ve learned that led to your success?

The biggest risk in life is not taking one but you definitely have to take calculated risks.

You’re a big Cowboys fan – how do you think they’ll do this year?

11-5

Oh yeah, one more question: You’ve always been such a huge supporter of our Armed Forces and other first responders – how would you encourage others to show their support as well?

I have enormous respect for those serving our country as well as their families and I love being able to have the opportunity to give back to them especially in my own community. If it weren't for their sacrifice then I wouldn't be able to do what I do and I just hope others follow suit.

Here's a little taste of what you'll get when you take in the VIP Sports Getaway experience.
