Spineshank, ‘Nothing Left for Me’ – Exclusive Song Premiere

After a breakup and subsequent reunion, Spineshank are set to unleash their first album in nine years. ‘Anger Denial Acceptance’ will hit stores on June 19 via Century Media Records, and we’ve got the exclusive premiere of the disc’s first official single, ‘Nothing Left for Me,’ right here on Loudwire.

The band has been working on ‘Anger Denial Acceptance‘ since reuniting in 2008 after a four-year breakup. Drummer Tommy Decker tells us that the new disc marks a progression in the band’s sound, but still matches the intensity and passion of their earlier albums. “I feel like we are better songwriters, better players, and we appreciate each other more. We’ve been through a lot together and I think that comes through in the music. The thing that has remained is our passion. We made this record with no label and no funding, it was all done and paid for by the band itself. The only reason we did it was because we felt like Spineshank had something to bring to the world. Musically, it’s still a mixture of heavy songs and melody. This record was written completely for us. It wasn’t written to follow up a previous record or to have success at radio. It’s a completely honest record. Love it or hate it, this is who we are.”

As for the single, ‘Nothing Left for Me,’ Decker says, “I think it’s one of the darker songs we’ve ever done. It’s about loss — losing people that you care about. It’s something everyone can relate to because we all lose people. Musically, it’s very simple, it’s just the chemistry of the four of us that makes it work. I think [singer] Jonny [Santos] sounds great on this song. It’s the softer side of Spineshank.”
