Rock trio Smile Empty Soul’s new disc ‘Chemicals’ is due out on Oct. 1 and will be released on the band’s own imprint Two Disciples Entertainment.

‘Chemicals’ marks the band’s sixth studio effort and the band just debuted the cover art (seen in this post) in addition to the full track listing, detailed below.

Vocalist and guitarist Sean Danielson recently explained why the band chose to release the disc on their own, sharing, “We've been on a different label with every release in our career, and we were tired of not being the priority.” He continues, “We started our own label with a business partner who's been a great friend to us over the last 10 years, and found distribution through some other long-time friends of ours. Now we're running the campaign ourselves and we're totally in control, doing what we feel needs to be done."

As far as the sound and direction of the album, Danielson explains, “'Chemicals' still has our signature sound but it has its own feel apart from our other work."

The album title just came naturally, too. "'Chemicals' made so much sense to us because of the day and age we live in,” said Danielson. “We're all eating, drinking and breathing chemicals on a daily basis and there's no escape."
