Slash has partnered with Gibson Guitars for several signature series models in the past, now the two are joining forces to bring back the most sought after of all his axes — the limited edition ‘Appetite for Destruction’ guitar.

When you think of Slash circa 1987, a few images come to mind — a big top hat sitting atop his curly black mane, dangling cigarette, half-spent bottle of Jack Daniels and the striped amber Gibson Les Paul on which he tore through the solos of ‘Paradise City’ and ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine.’ Adding most of those items to your look would come off as a cheap attempt to copy the icon, but getting your hands on the guitar would make you the envy of every guitarist you know. Soon, you will be able to do just that.

Slash tells Artisan News that the guitar, which was reproduced under a limited run with Gibson previously, will once again be available. “There was only a certain amount of those made and there’s a lot of people that never got them,” says Slash. “So we’re gonna do a version of that guitar coming up pretty soon.” There are no details on when the guitar maker will bring the model back, how many will be available this time around, or how much it will retail for, but the previous model’s list price was around $2,800.

Slash is currently killing time between legs of his ‘Apocalyptic Love’ tour by lending a hand on the Ozzy & Friends tour. Ozzy Obourne drafted the likes of Slash and Zakk Wylde for the dates initially planned as Sabbath gigs when Tony Iommi‘s health and the Bill Ward situation made the shows an unlikely possibility. Slash will return to tour the U.S. with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators in July.
