After initially releasing a statement saying they would leave the flag at the entrance on the theme park, they seemed to have had a change of heart.

Last week, the Six Flags Over Texas amusement park released a statement saying that they would not be removing the Confederates States of America flag from the front of their Texas theme park. A spokesperson for the park said that the flag didn't involve the negative and racist stereotype that is typical for the Rebel flag.

The park made this announcement on Friday but by Saturday they had backtracked on their statement. In an email sent to the Washington Post,

“At Six Flags Over Texas we strive every single day to make people happy and to create a fun, thrilling and safe family friendly experience for our guests. We always choose to focus on celebrating the things that unite us versus those that divide us. As such, we have changed the flag displays in our park to feature American flags.”

Now all six of the flags over the entrance of the park will be the American stars and stripes and no variations. No word yet on whether Six Flags will now be changing their name to One Flag theme park.
