Shooter Jennings and Marilyn Manson previously collaborated on a cover of David Bowie and Giorgio Moroder's "Cat People" as part of their mutual love for Moroder's music. Now they've taken the next step and issued an eye catching new video for their cover.

The clip has a very distinctive look, mirroring how gaming used to look, as directors Valenberg and Blake Judd deliver a pixelated piece of art with a dark storyline filled with sex, arson and possibly the end of times. Jennings and Manson both appear in the clip in pixelated form and you can watch it play out in the video above. “I love this song, Manson’s vocals, and Valenberg’s pixel art," says Jennings. "It’s like a Super Nintendo version of a John Carpenter film."

Earlier this year, Jennings revealed that he and Manson first discussed the song during a party at a bar. "I said, ‘Hey, you know ‘Cat People’? You want to do that song on this record, 'cause you’d sound awesome doing it,’" recalled Jennings. "And he was like, ‘I sing that song every night before I go onstage. That’s my song I warm up to.’ So one night I went over to his house at three in the morning and brought all my recording gear."

Jennings said Manson needed just one take to get the vocal that we hear. And while their collaboration was initially meant as a tribute to Moroder as part of Jennings' Countach (for Giorgio) album, he says he's glad that they were able to pay respect to Bowie, who sang on the original track, as well. Countach (for Giorgio) is currently available here.
