Seether have had much success with their latest album ‘Holding Onto Things Better Left to Fray,’ and now the disc’s debut single ‘Country Song’ has been named Billboard’s Active Rock Song of the Year and Mediabase’s No. 1 active rock song of 2011 in terms of airplay.

Seether also took Billboard’s No. 1 spot for Artist of the Year in both Active Rock and Heritage Rock. Frontman Shaun Morgan spoke on behalf of his bandmates Dale Stewart (bass) and John Humphrey (drums) while addressing the achievements in a press release: “Dale, John and I couldn’t be more excited about being named the No. 1 Active and Heritage Rock Artist for 2011 by Billboard. We are also blown away by the reception that ‘Country Song’ has received at radio.”

Morgan goes on to say, “We have to thank every station, program director and most of all our fans that supported us all year long and throughout our career.” The album also features the chart-topping hit ‘Tonight’ and the upcoming single ‘No Resolution.’

‘Holding Onto Things Better Left to Fray’ has sold more than 230,000 copies since its May release. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, which makes it the band’s highest album premiere so far.
