Seasons After + Shallow Side Play Parking Lot Jam in San Antonio

Sometimes when the best laid plans go awry, you get something even more memorable. Such was the case in San Antonio this past week when a scheduling snafu left Seasons After and Shallow Side without a venue to play, so they made the best out of the situation and delivered a parking lot jam for fans lucky enough to catch it.

The groups traveled to San Antonio Thursday night (Feb. 23) to play the Korova only to learn that there was a mix-up and that the venue was closed. But rather than pack it in and move on to the next stop, the bands put on an hour-plus jam in the parking lot for fans who had shown up. Seasons After started things off, before members of Shallow Side later joined in on the fun.

As you can see in the fan-shot footage from Yvonne Laughlin, Seasons After pulled up some chairs and played unplugged, working out the track "So Long Goodbye" as seen below. They also performed a number of cover songs, including the Lost Boys soundtrack Gerard McMahon favorite "Cry Little Sister" (seen below). Members of Shallow Side then joined in for covers of Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" (seen below), Alice in Chains' "Rooster" (seen above) and the Mark Ronson / Bruno Mars favorite "Uptown Funk" (seen below). The evening also included performances of Shallow Side's "Rebel," covers of Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana" and Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places," and more. Kudos to both bands for leaving the fans who showed up to the show with a memory they won't soon forget. And be sure to catch Seasons After and Shallow Side on the road when they come to your town.

Seasons After are currently touring in support of their 2016 album, Manifesto, which features the single "Fighter."
