In the past week or so, I've been very critical of Van Halen's David Lee Roth, and have said on air that I wish Sammy Hagar was back in the band. Here's a perfect example of why I say that with Sammy Hagar & The Circle's flawless cover of Van Halen's 'When It's Love'.

According to Sammy Hagar's YouTube channel, the video (above) was recorded sometime in 2014. It features the Red Rocker's latest project, The Circle, who are made up of Sammy, former Van Halen bassist, Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, and Vic Johnson.

Sammy's vocals are flawless with this performance. The dude can still sing like a boss. Meanwhile, David Lee Roth struggles to sing a recognized note in Van Halen's recent performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, something even Sammy noticed as well.

Sammy & The Circle will release their debut album '"At Your Service", which documents hits from Sammy's 4 decades of rock (Montrose, Solo, Van Halen, Wabos) as well as classic tracks from Led Zeppelin. The disc drops on May 19th. And, according to Sammy, the only way you'll ever hear the VanHagar era of Van Halen will be when he's singing them.

That's a good thing too because we all know that David Lee Roth sure as heck can't sing 'em.
