Leave it to Kiss to bring four diverse rockers together for a new project. Guns N’ Roses guitarist Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal and Pantera and Kill Devil Hill bassist Rex Brown are just two of the members of the new all-star Kiss tribute band A.L.I.V.E.!.  A.L.I.V.E.! also features former Whitesnake drummer Brian Tichy, and Kill Devil Hill guitarist Mark Zavon. The foursome are calling their new collaboration A.L.I.V.E.! a true tribute to ‘70s era Kiss.

The four originally joined forced while contributing to journalist Mitch Lafon’s charity project for the Kiss 40th anniversary tribute album 'A World With Heroes.’ Brown and Tichy played bass and drums on Bumblefoot’s contribution ‘Detroit Rock City' on which Bumblefoot also sings and sounds a lot like Paul Stanley. Tichy then played drums on the track ‘Larger Than Life’ where Brown handled vocal duties, emulating Gene Simmons. From there, things evolved pretty quickly.

“Each of us were hugely influenced by Kiss early in our lives, so the chance to play on those tracks was a real honor,” Brown said. “After we'd heard what we'd recorded, we thought it would be a lot of fun to do it live."

With each of the members citing Kiss as a huge influence throughout their careers, they feel A.L.I.V.E.! is a great way for them to thank the band as well as perform the songs that they have been so passionate about. "Hearing the Kiss ‘Alive!’ album at the age of 5 is what made me want to play guitar and join a band,” said Thal. “I'm looking forward to playing the songs that launched my life!"

During their live shows A.L.I.V.E.! will perform songs from both ‘Alive!’ and ‘Alive II' from the Kiss discography. The band’s first show is scheduled for July 24 at The Whiskey in Hollywood, Calif. and another scheduled on July 25 at LVCS in Las Vegas. For more info, visit the band on Facebook.
