He had a voice like he'd gargled razor blades and washed it down with hot lava. John Belushi parodied him, right next to him. He sang the song while Kim Basinger did the ultimate striptease in "9 1/2 weeks." Joe Cocker has passed away.

Joe Cocker died today at the age of 70. Lung cancer ultimately got him.

Cocker played at Woodstock and was known not only for his gravely voice, but also for his spastic body movements. Cocker was well known for his covers of Beatles classics, The Box Tops song "The Letter," Dave Mason's "Feelin' Alright" and Leon Russell's "Delta Lady."

Cocker had a couple of resurgences in his career, first with the 1974 hit "You Are So Beautiful" (which is still covered on singing show to this day) as well as in when he sand "Up Where We Belong" in 1982  with Jennifer Warnes.
