Riley Sawyers Talks About Sweetwater Jaycees 'Rattlesnake Round-up'

The 2nd weekend in March of each year is the Sweetwater Jaycees "World's Largest Rattlesnake Round-up". This year, the Jaycees will be celebrating their 56th year of this great event.

Sweetwater Jaycees member, and star of Animal Planet's "Rattlesnake Republic", Riley Sawyers stopped by the Rock 108 studios to talk about this year's event. He even brought a few of his rattling friends too.

Riley pointed out that this event is all about educating spectators about rattlesnakes. He also compared a rattlesnake to a firearm in terms of the respect you must give it to stay alive.

While there will be plenty of demonstrations involving rattlesnakes, there's also a ton of food, including BBQ cook-off, a carnival, and gun/knife/coin show. You'll also find plenty of vendors selling various items made of rattlesnake skin.

The Rattlesnake Round-up is a must-see for anyone who lives in West Texas.
