Here's more proof that Pokemon Go is taking over the world.

We've already seen reporters lose focus playing the game, but that involved the weather and this time it features, you know, real news.

According to the YouTube video description:

John Kirby, U.S. Department of State Spokesperson, delivered the daily press briefing on July 21st, 2016. During his briefing on Middle East policy, a reporter was spotted playing Pokemon Go on his phone.

Yeah, the reporter did this during a briefing on the Middle East, a region of the world so volatile that when someone gets a falafel he dislikes it could lead to fire and brimstone and all other fun things associated with World War Three.

But that's where we are now. Pokemon Go is our obsession -- whether we like it or not -- even if it means our safety is in jeopardy or our car becomes toast.

Yup, we may not be able to agree on a presidential candidate in 2016, but we can agree that 2016 is the year fun and games became more important than, well, fun and games.
