Dec. 8, 2014 marks the 10th anniversary of Pantera / Damageplan guitarist ‘Dimebag’ Darrell Abbott‘s tragic death. In remembrance of the guitar great, we’ve spoken to rock and metal’s greatest musicians to gather stories and testimonies of admiration towards the immortal shredder.

In the clip above, Five Finger Death Punch drummer Jeremy Spencer recalls being a teenager and getting a chance to open for Pantera as part of a local band. Spencer says it was a thrill having someone like Dimebag Darrell watch him from the side of the stage and he remembers giving the guitar great one of his band's t-shirts that Dime later wore in a metal magazine photo shoot.

Spencer goes on to talk about the experience of opening for Pantera at such a young age and what it meant to him at that point in his career. Check out Spencer's full story about playing on a bill with Pantera in the video above and stay tuned for more Remembering Dimebag Darrell stories in the lead up to the Dec. 8 anniversary of Dimebag Darrell's tragic death.
