I hate to sound like a commercial here, but this is one service that works. These days you have to sign up on a bazillion different websites for a bazillion different things, and they all have some level of frustration involved. I can honestly say that this is one of the easiest experiences I've ever had online.

When you get your car registration, there's a little note on the back saying you can renew at www.texas.gov.  I went into this a bit skeptical, but I had two cars to register. I can tell you that I easily registered two cars and signed up as an organ donor in less than five minutes.  Seriously.  All the info you need is on your registration certificate. Put that together with a credit card and you're done.  You don't even need your insurance (they now check that when you get your inspection).  Oh, and as I mentioned, there is a little link after registration that takes you to an organ donation page if you want. I personally always wanted to do this but really never made an effort.

Big props to The Texas Department Of Motor Vehicles on this website. I thought I'd be standing in line for 45 minutes to get this done and instead I did it in six minute while sitting in my onesie at home.
