Red Hot Chili Peppers Invade Boston – Exclusive Photo Gallery
The year 2012 is shaping up to be quite a memorable one for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. From their recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to their current tour run, it’s hard to believe that they’ve been at it for almost three decades.
In 2011, the band returned with their latest disc ‘I’m With You.’ Marking their first release since 2006’s ‘Stadium Arcadium,’ the reinvigorated Chili Peppers are out on the road straight through October with special stops at Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza.
With a discography that dates back to the early ‘80s, the band has plenty of songs to choose from. Sticking primarily to the fan favorites, they opened their show at Boston’s TD Garden last night (May 7) with ‘Monarchy of Roses,’ the second single off of the latest disc, followed by an evening of hit after hit.
The TD Garden is also home to the Boston Celtics. RHCP bassist Flea just happens to be a diehard Lakers fan and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to throw out a comment or two, but all in good fun. He even took to his Twitter account post show saying, “I hate the Celtics, but it is a hatred that has integrity. I love to hate them. I respect them I hope for a Lakers/Celtics final.” You have to appreciate his passion!
