In all sports, many athletes stay loyal, while others want to pursue another team after some time. Does this make them a bad person, or a smart player?One of the biggest stories of the NBA offseason is the Dwight Howard nightmare. It seems like that nightmare could be over, with Howard on his way to the Los Angeles Lakers. Along the way, he may have burned some bridges in Orlando.
This brings up a question, though — if a player demands a trade, does that make him a villain? Sure, it may seem selfish, but sometimes when players get near the end of their career, they want to win. What about a younger player? If his franchise is going nowhere fast, is he obligated to stick around? Shouldn’t he be able to go where he wants, since winning is the ultimate goal?
