We haven't seen much of David Duchovny outside of his gig in the Showtime series 'Californication,' but the former 'X-Files' star is back in action for the new "suspense submarine thriller" 'Phantom' with Ed Harris as the sub captain who's haunted by his past and his disorienting seizures. Fun!

In 'Phantom,' (and no, we're not talking about the purple-suited superhero movie) Duchovny plays the head of a rogue KBG group who tries to seize control over Harris' submarine. If that weren't bad enough, the good ol' cap is simultaneously trying to hide the fact that he suffers from seizures that alter his perception of reality, and fend off the memories of his haunted past. Check out the official synopsis below to learn more about the film:

Ed Harris plays the captain of a Cold War Soviet missile submarine who has secretly been suffering from seizures that alter his perception of reality. Forced to leave his wife and daughter, he is rushed into a classified mission, where he is haunted by his past and challenged by a rogue KGB group (led by David Duchovny) bent on seizing control of the ship’s nuclear missile. With the fate of humanity in his hands, Harris discovers he has been chosen for this mission in the belief he would fail. Phantom is a suspense submarine thriller about extraordinary men facing impossible choices.

'Phantom' is currently set to hit theaters on March 1, 2013, and now we have the first full trailer to amuse us until then. William Fichtner also stars in the film, which is directed by Todd Robinson. Watch the full 'Phantom' trailer below and let us know what you think of the movie in the comments.
