Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament has released a new single titled “Safe in the Car.” The track features band mates Mike McCready and Matt Cameron and some guest vocals from Angel Olsen.

According to a post on Pearl Jam’s official website, the song will be featured on Ament's upcoming solo album titled Heaven/Hell, though no release date has been set. It will mark the third solo effort from Ament, following 2008's Tone and 2012's While My Heart Beats.

“Safe in the Car” is a dark and synth-heavy departure for Ament featuring distorted vocals and a thumping beat, provided by Matt Cameron. Angel Olsen adds much needed light to the track singing on the chorus and the bridge. Listen below.

A 7” vinyl of the song is available here, which features the B-side “Captain Cook.”

It’s going to be a busy year for Ament, who will not only work on his solo album, but will also be recording a new Pearl Jam album with producer Brendan O'Brien. It'll be the first new material from the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers since 2013's Lightning Bolt.

Pearl Jam will also head out on the road this summer. Check out all their tour dates here.
