Pantera and Hellyeah drummer Vinnie Paul passed away on June 22 earlier this year at the age of 54. Now, Pantera have released a statement explaining his cause of death.

"Vincent Paul Abbott died from natural causes, specifically, dilated cardiomyopathy. Severe coronary artery disease was identified as a significant condition to the cause of death according to the official report submitted by the Clark County Coroner's office," Pantera tweeted (seen below). A secondary post (further below) states, "We ask that you please continue to respect the privacy of the family and friends of Vinnie Paul. No further statement will be issued."

The outpouring of grief from members of the rock and metal community upon Vinnie Paul's death was staggering as they all shared their memories of the drummer and thanked him for his boundless kindness and generosity.

Before his death, Vinnie Paul tracked drums for the newest Hellyeah record and the band has confirmed that they intend to move forward and release the new material. An update to Hellyeah's Wikipedia page claimed Daniel Davison (Norma Jean, Underoath, Every Time I Die) would fill the vacant drum slot, but the group quickly dismissed the update as "absolute fake news."
