Despite his best efforts, it looks as though Papa Roach singer Jacoby Shaddix‘s vocal issues are ongoing. P.O.D. revealed the news in a tweet, explaining that they were asked to step up to the main stage Tuesday night (Aug. 21) to make up for Papa Roach’s absence.

They tweeted, “Headed to Grand Rapids. Papa Roach dropped off today’s show so we’re covering their slot last minute. Prayers 4 Jacoby to heal his vocals.” For their part, Papa Roach has not made any comment concerning Shaddix’s current state or how many shows this may affect. P.O.D. had been headlining the second stage during the run.

Shaddix revealed in mid-July that he was having some vocal issues. He stated that he had a node that had started forming on his vocal cords and would do everything possible to make sure he was ready for the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival.

Speaking with Loudwire just prior to opening day, Shaddix explained, “I think I’ll be alright. I’ve got a speech and vocal therapist at the current time to learn how to sing through this and work through this and take care of myself. Really it’s just a matter of having a little bit more discipline than I’m used to, you know, as far as vocal rest and warm ups and cool downs and all that kind of stuff. [I'm looking at] what I eat, and it’s really coming down to more discipline and I’m up for it. I’ve got a job to do. I’ve got to go rock motherf—ers.”
