Unfortunate news for Opeth fans: the release of the band's highly anticipated 11th studio album, 'Pale Communion,' has been pushed back from June 17 to Aug. 26. Additionally, the album's first single, which was supposed to debut on May 6, has also been pushed back.

During a recent interview we had with Opeth's Mikael Akerfeldt and Fredrik Akesson, we were given the exclusive news that the band's 11th album would see a June release date. The band later confirmed a June 17 street date for 'Pale Communison,' with pre-orders beginning May 6. Those who pre-ordered the album would receive the new track 'Cusp of Eternity' as an added bonus, but Opeth fans were disappointed as May 6 passed without access to 'Cusp of Eternity.'

“Many of you have heard the rumors already and we can now confirm that the release of ‘Pale Communion’ has indeed been pushed back to late August,” says Akerfeldt. “Several circumstances prevented the band from delivering essential tools to Roadrunner in time which are needed to set up the album release properly and release schedule conflicts made us mutually decide on August instead of June.”

The 'Pale Communion' pre-order date has been rescheduled for June 3 and fans will be able to download 'Cusp of Eternity' after ordering the record. Additionally, a second album track will be released on July 15. As for 'Pale Communion' itself, the album is now slated for Aug. 26.

Stay tuned for all your Opeth news as 'Pale Communion' updates continue to be released.
